Game Notes:
JOCO defeated a much improved Montgomery County team on Friday night by the score of 56-34. The Eagle’s struck first but JOCO scored just 1:43 later on a Tyrik Jackson (#34, SR) 17 yard run. The Trojans added three second quarter touchdowns; a 47 yard run by Malik Pierce (#13, SR) and a pair of Bran Rawlings (#9, JR) 19 and 45 yard receving touchdowns from Brooks Norton (#8, JR) to take a comfortable 28-7 lead into halftime. The teams swapped scores in the second half with each team adding four more touchdowns, with Montgomery’s last score coming against the Trojan B-Team. Second half scores for JOCO included another Norton to Rawlings receiving touchdown, this one for 52 yards, a Norton to Jalen Johnson (#6, JR) reception in the back corner of the end zone, and a pair of rushing touchdowns by Norton and Dre Darrisaw (#23, FR). Jake Edwards (#12, JR) made all 8 extra points. The Trojans offense rolled up 562 yards of total offense, 332 on the ground and 230 through the air. Malik Pierce led the way on the ground with 210 yards on 16 carries. Brooks Norton completed 9-16 passes for 230 yards and 4 touchdowns. Bran Rawlings was the recipient of 3 passes for 116 yards and 3 touchdowns. Jalen Johnson caught four passes for 94 yards and a touchdown. Next week JOCO will host the East Laurens Falcons on Thursday night. Kickoff is at 7:30. Come out and support the Trojans as we renew the old rivalry.
