Game 5: 9/16 at Savannah Country Day
JOCO   7

SCD   9
Record: 4-1 (1-0 Region)
Next Week: BYE WEEK
September 30: vs. Wheeler County
October 7: at Jenkins County
Game Notes:

A banged up Johnson County Trojans squad traveled to Savannah and unfortunately suffered their first loss, a 7-9 defeat to the Savannah Country Day Hornets, in a defensive struggle. The Trojans could only muster up one touchdown, and although the Hornets only scored one touchdown as well, a Hornets field goal was the difference in the game. JOCO had a touchdown called back on a penalty and missed a field goal, which sealed the win for SCD.

JOCO finished with 223 total yards, 57 of those passing and 166 rushing. Jalen Johnson (#6, JR), Ran Norris (#10, JR), and Malik Pierce (#13, SR) led the Trojans in rushing yards while Brooks Norton (#8, JR) scored a rushing touchdown. Bendrick Hodges (#3, SO) and Johnson led the Trojans in receiving. On defense, Pierce and Jarrett Hines (#55, JR) led the team in tackles with 8 each.

The Trojans will have time to heal in a bye week before hosting Wheeler County on September 30 for homecoming. Subregion play, where the Trojans are currently 1-0 in, will resume and continue for the rest of the regular season until the region crossover, so it is adamant the fan base rallies behind the team, as the most important games are now.
